Some of these aberrations may allow a lens to produce aesthetically pleasing bokeh, while others may cause a lens to render harshly. Much of how a lens renders its out-of-focus elements has to do with its inherent aberrations. “In photographic terms, bokeh is the blur, or aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image, or he way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light”īut there is so much more to it, and this is why I want to speak about it a bit more.ĭifferent lenses render bokeh in different ways, and there are many ongoing debates about which lenses produce the best bokeh.
